About Attorney Robert Hinojosa

Attorney Robert Hinojosa brings a rare vantage point to his criminal defense practice at Clint W. Perryman PC: he spent over a decade inside the prosecutor’s office before dedicating his career to defending the accused. That insider’s understanding of how Michigan prosecutors build their cases now works entirely in his clients’ favor.
Robert began his legal career in 2009, when he was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan and to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan. He is a 2009 graduate of Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School and earned his undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University in 2002.
For over a decade, Robert served as a prosecutor across three Michigan counties — starting his career in Iron County, moving to Shiawassee County, and finishing his prosecutorial tenure in Lapeer County. In 2019, he made the decision to switch sides, transitioning to criminal defense because of his genuine passion for helping people through the most difficult moments of their lives. He has spent the years since building a defense practice grounded in that same courtroom-tested strategy, joining Clint W. Perryman PC in March 2025 and bringing his prosecutorial insight directly to bear for clients across Genesee, Shiawassee, and the surrounding Mid-Michigan counties.
Robert is an active member of the Genesee County Bar Association and a dedicated presence in his community. He is a registered official with the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA), refereeing football, volleyball, basketball, and women’s collegiate softball throughout the region.
Robert resides in Shiawassee County with his wife. Outside the office, they enjoy time with their granddaughter, kayaking, and cheering on Michigan State University athletics — his wife’s enduring passion.
